Ken Krueger, Scott Shaw!, and John Pound on 1973 Comic-Con Panel

  • by

While scanning some of Shel Dorf’s black-and-white negatives of the 1973 San Diego Comic-Con, I came across this picture of Ken on a panel with Scott Shaw!, John Pound, and two as-yet-unidentified people. (Does anyone recognize them or recall what the panel was about?)

Update 03/09/10: Thanks to Scott Shaw! for a tentative identification of Dave Gibson as the panelist on the far left.

  1. Scott Shaw!

I’m fairly certain that the hairy fellow at the left side of the panel is the late Dave Gibson, a prominent fan, dealer and publisher (he was publishing the SPIRIT bagged B&W reprints, authorized by Will Eisner) and the notorious underground comic book, DORRGSHEETT DIGEST. As for the unknown person in the middle, I don’t have a clue…in fact, I can’t even tell if that’s a male or a female!
